
The Knee & Sports Medicine Centre is an internationally recognized, multi-discipline organization which provides world class knee surgery and sports medicine outcomes for the Gold Coast community. Founded in 1985, it comprises two Orthopaedic Knee Surgeons, three Sports Physicians, two specialist Orthopaedic Registered Nurses and ten support staff.
The Knee & Sports Medicine Centre is internationally recognized in areas of knee surgery such as high performance total knee replacement, cartilage transplantation and complex knee ligament reconstruction.
It has affiliations with Griffith and Bond Universities, Medical and Exercise Science Departments. Associate Professor Christopher Vertullo and Associate Professor Stephen Rackemann both have voluntary adjunct appointments at Bond and Griffith Universities, and are involved with both university research and student lecturing.
Associate Professor Paul Ohmsen is appointed at Griffith University, School of Exercise Science and Assistant Professor David Hart is appointed to Bond University, Department of Medicine.
The Centre's focus is knee surgery and sports injuries. Our aim is to provide our patients with world-class care and surgical expertise in these areas. All of our staff at The Centre strive to provide excellent service to our patients in a friendly and relaxed manner.
The Knee and Sports Medicine Centre is located in the grounds of Pindara Hospital, Gold Coast.
